Silver Tears 10:54
All night These Lights Roots of Trees Wet streets   Will you visit me while I sleep? In quiet moments will I feel your presence Do you exist in the wind? Will the wind sweep your soul past me as I walk So fast that I have to run to catch up Or are you burrowed deeply within the fabrics, the walls, your chair? Are you hiding out? Or are you really gone?   In my City In my Dreams You’re the Water We drink Touch the Lillies Be with me While our Shadows Run Free   No More Violence There’s no Danger No more words Pierce like daggers Just you just me Just you just me Just you just me Just you just me   Through the darkness Pale gleams On your faces Gently Melts your sorrows Silver tears All the damage Disappears   No More Violence There’s no Danger No more words Pierce like daggers Just you just me   Caught in the wind Lost at the horizon There’s no way To go back   In my City In my Dreams You’re the Water We drink Touch the Lillies Be with me While our Shadows Run Free     Endless Visions Timeless Love Kiss the raindrops Open up We’re together That’s enough Till we scatter Like dust   Caught Lost at the Horizon Caught Lost at the Horizon Caught Lost at the Horizon

about

We are pleased to announce a new Pale Blue single/video-“Silver Tears”. At the beginning of this year, we released a very personal EP called Breathe. We weren’t prepared for what was to come, only a few weeks after the release. The plan was to release our new record this year, but we decided to put that on hold until we can figure out this mess we are all in. Instead, I sent Liz an instrumental I wrote for a standalone single for a "song about 2020”. We finished the song, and a month later, my father died. So, I asked Liz to add more vocals and lyrics. Those final lyrics tied the song together. This is a long song, almost 11 minutes, but its been a long year. Silver Tears is the culmination of 2020, just like Breathe was the beginning. They are bookends. I am so over all of this negativity and death and sadness and anger. Silver Tears closes the chapter. Its time to move forward. I miss being in a club djing, I miss seeing my friends and my family, I miss you.

Also I am very excited for the remix from my friend Monty Luke. We released a record together under the name Billions and Billions back in 2012. He is one of my favorite producers and people, and he also runs Black Catalogue. Thanks - Mike

From Liz:
“This song was written during the first quarter of the quarantine. Every day I thought about death- death caused by the virus, death caused by white supremacy, racism, violence, death by transphobia, homophobia, inequality, and all of it put me in a dark place where I was desperate for some sort of hope. Mike’s dad had just passed away during all of this and it’s devastating to think about all the people losing loved ones who aren’t able to be there during those final moments due to covid-19. When I was writing this, I was trying to make sense of it all, but I still can’t. I used to take solace in the love I had for my city but all of a sudden, I didn’t feel safe because of people’s disregard for spreading this virus. So, to cope I reflected a lot on the people I love and tried to strengthen those connections....it's all I could manage to do to deal with so much hate but honestly at the end of the day that isn’t enough” -Liz
